After picking Caleb up from school we ran to Shopko and got this canopy thing for me to bring to the pool with us this summer and use in the backyard. I’m not sure if we’ll keep it though. It needs to be extremely easy and quick to set up otherwise I know I won’t want to bring it with me places this summer.
After Shopko we hit up Costco. I was starving at this point and I had a few bites of my kids low fat soft serve ice cream. When we got home I brought in the groceries and began assembling some “homemade” trail mix. I bought some dried fruit, mixed nuts and granola.
The dried fruit is awesome because it is more than your typical berries and bananas. It’s got mangos, kiwi, grapes and a bunch of other good stuff. There’s not a ton of sugar either. Some dried fruit just tastes coated in sugar but this tastes really fresh and natural.
The Bear Naked granola is so good! The apple cinnamon flavor is really strong. I also like that there aren’t any preservatives or HFCS.
All of these ingredients are dangerous in my presence though so I portioned it all out into baggies and then put the main bags on the top shelf in the back corner of my pantry. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
I snacked on this as I assembled so it ended up being lunch. 🙂 I rounded off lunch with my favorite snacking veggie:
Now I’m full! This should tide me over until our bbq tonight! Hopefully we’ll be eating outside under the canopy, but I’ll keep you posted on that one! Have a great afternoon!
